At the heart of the CEIP is the unique environment in which new employment uses will be co-located with, and fully integrated with Chelveston Renewable Energy Park. CEIP will provide a significant opportunity to capture economic growth from the innovative high technology and green energy sectors and will be a hub in the green economy accelerating the shift towards net zero carbon emissions. Employers will benefit from reliable low-cost renewable energy supplied directly from CREP as well as opportunities to use low carbon transport fuel (renewable hydrogen) for their businesses.
CEIP’s core value is about creating a place that fosters innovation from the key priority sectors in the region’s green economy. It would strengthen the development of green industries in Northamptonshire and CREP would provide a sustainable and stable supply of energy to the future business occupiers.
There are a number of forecasted benefits for occupiers of CEIP. Occupiers will have a significant reduction in electricity costs as well as a large reduction of carbon footprint. It is estimated that per year, Chelveston Energy Innovation Park will offset nearly 8,800 Tonnes of Carbon Dioxide.
